no hbvdna has no meaning, as i said many times it is not the number of infected cells and it is not the quantity of virions
if you are immune tollerant you have no damage at all, remember that the virus makes no damage to us it is immune system to make damage
So stef2011 you mean i should test hbsag now.
Just wanted to understand if this high hbvdna, is there a threat to my life
did you check if you were immune tollerant without liver damage before starting treatment?
i think you went to an ignorant doctor, hbvdna has no meaning and it is not the virus it is just a reflection of replication and replication is not the number of virions and is not the number of infected cells
with such high hbvdna interferon is useless, hbv can make resistance to interferon especially at high hbvdna.how long are you taking it?what is your hbsag quantity?
if there is less than 0.5log decrease of hbsag by 24 weeks and little hbvdna decrease interferon must be stopped because useless
the best thing you can do now is try nitazoxanide (alinia) which is known to boost interfeon response.it is off label so you need an expert doctor to prescribe it or you just buy it online, the cheap generic is nizonide500 by lupin
Hey Shemal, I'm a medical student ill share with you what I know. The viral load is trending down which is a good sign. Interferon is actually naturally produced in our body and is a viral supressor. You're just taking more of it exogenously. I know the side effects can be challenging but there's new medications that can help with that. To answer your question of life implications it can vary depending on the biposy , ct , liver profile and ultrasound. You might just be a carrier with a high viral load but might have normal ast or alt levels. In this case you probably just need to bring the viral load down and you could possibly seroconvert which means you made an antibody to one part of the virus and stopped the replication process. however Im just giving you an example that could happen in your case. I still need additional information in order to help you out. you can still live a normal life, the medications are very promising.
