Hi Guys
I am facing HBSAg +ve since 2000 when i was 15 years, now i m 27.
Following are my results.
HBSag Cut off: 1 Patient: 3393
HBeAG: Non Reactive
Anti Hbe: Reactive
ALT: 29
ASt: 26
HBV DNA PCR Quantitative: 1114 IU/ML & 3799 copies per ML
I have these questions:
1- Do HBSAg patient value and HVB DNA PCR value has any relation, as those values look close?
2- What are the units of HBSAg result? is it IU/ML?
3- I have inactive carrier as my PCR value is <2000, is it possible to have HBSAg negative??
4- What does HBSAg value exactly means?
thanks a lot
1 - this is still under research and debate among doctors
2 - IU/ml - but as I mentioned your value are most likely the qualitative and not quantitative
3 - natural seroconversion s is 1 - 2 % per year. note that inactive carrier definition is also under research debate, some of researchers introduce also qHBsAg in this equation beside HVB DNA.
4 - not clear for me
