HB`s Ag levels

Hello

My partner has acute Hep B and has had her first blood test 3 months after finding out.

Her results are

HB`s Ag   859
Anti HB`s 1.89

Can some one explain if this still acute or chronic Hep B

Many Thanks

Hi there,
Almost 90% of healthy adults who are infected with the hepatitis B virus recover and develop protective antibodies against future hepatitis B infections. Only a small number of infected adults 5-10% become chronically infected with hepatitis B.Your partner has taken up the test early. Repeat blood tests over a six-month period can help in an accurate diagnosis. The presence of anti-HBs indicates recovery and immunity from hepatitis B virus infection. He will need repeat test after 3 months. Do write to me again.
Best luck and regards!
