HBsAg Weakly Positive -- what does it mean?

Hi, I got a result from lab that shows
HBsAg weakly positive
HBc Ig Anti +ve
HBeAg -ve
HBeAb +ve

Then another lab shows result that
HBsAg -ve
HBsAb -ve

So am i a carrier or is there such thing as seroconversion of HBsAg to normal.

According to first lab, the test for HBsAg has certain threshold which indicate a presence or not. If low, they will test HBcIg Anti to check for chronic carrier.

Very confusing. Can someone help me.

Thank you.

How long was it between the 2 tests? And how long do you know you had HepB?

You should get a PCR HBVDNA test to see if the virus is detectable in your blood.

I would think that since you have E antibodies it means that you had the virus for a while. If you develop S antibodies then you are the lucky 1% who get rid of the virus from a chronic state.

Go to the bottom of the page. It explains in detail all the test results. It is possible you are in an acute phase from your results but more tests are needed.
