Hapatitis b prognosis

I am patient of dibetes mallitis since 10 years. Now I am diagnosed to have hapatitisB  infection.Test done was HBV DNA quantitative assay COBAS TAQMAN HBV test and it was 264000 i.u./ml last week.
My liver enzymes
On Jan 24 were ALT-857 (0-41) and AST-422 (0-38) and than on Jan 31 were ALT-472 and AST-284.
HBe AG-2.8
HB ag Non- reactive
I am having  vomittig and diarrohea and weight loss. Is it acute or chronic infection? Shohld i be started with antiviral treatment? What would be the prognosis?

chronic Hep B = two tests 6 months apart both showing HBsAg(+).  Did you have two test?

not known if acute or chronic.

does sound like acute but i cant tell for sure.

i believe the surface antigen test tells you if infection is chronic or acute.

dont start treatment until you see a specialist ofcourse. if acute then no meds are needed you just have to give your body the time aqnd chance to beat on its own hopefully.

if chronic then consult with your specialist and see what he says..


again it does sound a little like an acute but i cant give you the false hope.. maybe the decrease in your ALT and AST is the only indication here that it may be acute
