HbSAG Quantitative testing

Please anyone know where i can have a HbSag Quantitative testing in the Uk ????
Will be visiting the Uk next month and will afford me a golden opportunity to have this test done, to see progress of my treatment.

I still think the UK would be a cheaper option for you from the US. You can get good flight deals.
Just got an appointment booked successfully with the London clinic for the test. Really excited.

Thanks for your response James. Sorry to hear about your experience. Must have been very unpleasant considering you had to travel all the way from the US. Were u subsequently able to get the test done?
Also just got a mail from the London clinic. They informed me they do the HBSAG quantity test at a cost of 225 Pounds. A bit more expensive, but will save me a great deal of travel costs.
Will go for the London option.

Unfortunately I still have never had the test. Will be in Brazil early next year and I'm hoping to find a clinic there.

Lab info is below. You can find their email online. Beware that the idiot nurse I dealt with coded my blood sample for a TB test so it was a complete waste of time and money. Didn't find out until I was back in the US. You'll probably have better luck after I ripped them a new one with several emails and phone calls. At least they refunded my money for the blood test. It is only hbsag quant test, all the sentences in italian mean not hbvdna, not hbsab

I'm having the HBsAG Quantitative test done in March in Newcastle UK at the NHS Newcastle North and East CCG Clinic. They've assured me they use Abbott Architect and report in iu/ml. The cost is 42 British Pounds.

check for cheap ryanair flights to italy, milan or verona or breascia or bergamo with return same day or next day, in these cities you have many synlabs available and you ll have hbsag result online next day or same day.cost about 60€.i see uk as almost impossible, to messy  for possible errors and expensive

just remember to stress these words at the reception in italian (print and take with you to show them:
hbsag quantitativo, antigene di superfice quantitativo
non antigene di superficie qualitativo, non l anticorpo hbsab e non la polimerasi hbvdna

if you tell in english they might make mistakes

So i sent a mail to the liver institute and got the following reply:

Dear Joc,
I am sorry we cannot help you as we are a clinical service providing testing for clinicians.  The only way we can carry out any testing for you is via your G.P. or NHS clinician.

Since i will be in the Uk for just a week, i am worried i might not have enough time to both see a GP, get  a referral and actually have the testing done. I am wondering if they will accept referrals from a GP from outside the UK, which might save me a whole load of time

Will be in Aberdeen initially then on to London. I will be happy to travel anywhere in the UK just to have this test done. Will appreciate any addresses to labs you can give me, where i can definitely get this done, while in the UK.

I did google synlab in london but was dissapointed to get there and find it wasnt a lab but some other outfit bearing the name synlab. will be grateful to have a definite address.

Usually your Liver Team does all the test but I believe you are not UK resident and do not have liver team so you better go private. If you tell me where in UK you are going I may find you a lab.Cheers
