HbsAg Positive

Hi, I am male 27 years. Following are the results of different tests I underwent quite recently:
1. HBsAg
Patient value: 4748.48
Cut off value: 1.0

2. Albumin
Patient value: 4.25
Reference range: (3.5-5.2 g/dl)

3. SGPT (ALT)
Patient value: 21
Reference range: < 45 U/L

4. HBeAg (Test performed on Cobas e411 by ECLIA)
Patient value: Non-reactive 0.120
Cut off value: 1.0

5. HDV Anitbody (ELISA)
Patient value: Negative 1.651
Cut off value for positive: < 1.218

6. HBV DNA (Hepatitis B Viral Load- Quantitative)
HBV DNA Detected via test principle PCR
Viral Load 17 IU/ml (The lower quantification limit of this assay is 10 IU/ml).

My doctor has advised me there is no need for treatment. Could you please advise me as to the following:
1. Is there anything to be concerned about?
2. What precautions/diet plan, if any, should I follow?
3. What are chances of HBsAg being Negative?
4. How often should I get myself checked up and for which tests?

If you have children, or anyone who lives with you in your household, let them take the vacccination against hbv.

In general: it is sad that each country does not have an abligatory vaccination program against hbv. If that was the case, I think hbv could have been eradicated from the face of the earth.

Also if you've a sexual partner make sure they're immune against HBV. Do not have unprotected sex until your partner has gained the necessary immunity. Do not expose your partner or anyone else to your blood or other body fluids, and don't share personal articles such as toothbrush, nail clippers, shaving articles or any other sharp materials that can be contaminated with blood.
I think you also need to undergo a fibroscan to find out the status of your liver. Fibroscan is a non-invasive, painless way of examining the liver that is fast, but also gives a reliable information about the liver.

Ram1982, when you say other disease, are you talking about liver related disease, because that would be considered hbv complication?

1. Nothing to get concerned. Check your vit d3 levels and take supplements if you are deficient.

2.Follow healthy diet with daily exercise to keep your body fit.

3. Chances are very less in making it to negative. But many people die with positive because of some other diseases.

4. Once in 6 months is best, once in a year is good as seems that your case is similar to my case and doctor advised me the same thing.
