Help me understand my test results

I recently donated blood and received a letter from the blood bank the following results for the HBV tests

HBsAg=                 Negative
anti-HBc total=        Positive
HBV NAT (PCR)=    Negative

I am a 49 y/o male and do not fall into any of the high risk categories and received the heptavax vaccine series about 20 years ago. Thanks for any information you can provide

you were protected by vaccine so clear hbv but developed infection despite vaccine and made also hbcab antibody, you fully cleared hbv, for 100% security check also hbsab

they will not accept your blood anymore, even if you ceared hbv complitely some virus might remain in the blood for decades without anyharm for you and there is no test to detect it so they don t take blood from those who had hbv

you are not infectious although a very rare possibility can exsist from blood contact

Thanks Stefano for your response. I do have an appointment scheduled for 9/8 with a Hepatology Specialist for follow-up. I am more at ease after your response.

Thanks again.
