Help understanding results please

I got this test done in October 2006.  I asked the doctor today for my test results.  I really expected more information than this.

I'm not sure what else there is on here that applies to HBV...the test results are for both HBV and HCV on the same page.

All I see is:

Hep Bs Antigen    Negative   Negative

Shouldn't there be more than that?  All along..I've been told by the Health Unit that I'm non-contagious and immune.  Do these results say that or is there more info required to support that opinion?

Feedback appreciated, thanks.

Trish

Yes, I remember your previous post.  You probably got your markers mixed up.

I think you're fine.  Ask your doctor to run the full HepB panel for you have a complete set of record on file for yourself.

Thanks Steven.

"Hep Bs Antigen    Negative   Negative "

My guess is that your HepB surface antigen tested negative.  One negative is the reference range, the other is your result.

If coupled with surface antibody positive, you are immuned to HepB and not contagious.

Hope this helps.
