Hep B Core Antibody Positive

I recently attempted to give blood for the first time and received my follow up letter.  I stated that I was negative for all infections and viruses tested for by the American Red Cross, except for one, which is the Core Antibody Test, which is positive.  I went to my doctor and he ordered a full panel for Hep B, but I don't have an appointment again until next week.  Just from what I have said, do you have any idea as to how I would have a Core Antibody Positive result, but negative for all other Hep B related tests?

hbcag is positive whether you had or cleared hbv (exactly you gained immune control because hbv is rarely complitely cleared but once you have immune control it doesn t make any damage)

since real complete eradication doesn t exist after hbv enters your body your blood can always be infectious in case of transfusion so red cross just checks for this and throw away the blood positive to hbcag

immune control means that you will never get hbv again and the virus cannot make any damage to you but you have to be aware that if your immune system is damaged in case of chemiothrapy or a transplant during your life hbv can come back, in that case doctors will use an antiviral to avoid it

95% of adults clear hbv so you have very high chances that you cleared it
