Hep B or Not to Hep B !

In 1995 I was diagnosed as having Hep B, this hasa affected my life for 22+ years.  Recently I moved to Asia and this required me to have a complete and comprehensive blood test of EVERYTHING including HIV.

OK bare with me, the results came back as Hep B negative... I queried this and was told I have no signs under any markers that I have ever had Hep B...  Mmm

I went to the top hospital in the Country I reside and explained my situation, again I was tested and came out as never a sufferer...

This is mental so again I went today, same result - NEGATIVE on every marker, fully tested in every way...

So have altered my life for all those years for nothing, I guess the moral of this story is get a 2nd opinion if you are diagnosed to avoid the life changing anguish I have suffered from for so many years.

I will be the first to respond to ALWAYS get a 2nd opinion. You may get a case like this or may get a case like mine where I was chronic but went active, but the Gastro treated it like a new case. Told me I'd clear in 6 months and when I didn't, told me "another 6 months". I waited another 2 and then got my 2nd opinion with a doctor who today I'd still say "saved my life". I know it's standard practice but I should have been on meds right from the get go when they discovered I was chronic.

But, happy for you that, you dont have hepB anymore. Was tge first diagnosis wrong?
