Hep B test results

by soscaredworried, Feb 29, 2008 10:51PM
Hi guys,

quick question on my test results:

HBsAG-non-reactive
Anti-HBS - 1.5mIU/ml

I know that i would need a booster for my previous hep b immunization(not sure if I really got it though) since my Anti-HBS<10mIU/ml. my question is that would the presence of Anti-HBS even though small protect me for Hepa B?

"HBsAG-non-reactive"

-means you don't have HepB

"would the presence of Anti-HBS even though small protect me for Hepa B?"

-if the level was once high then went low after a number of year, then yes, it would still protect you but you should get a booster shot.
-it the level has always been low and you never got vaccinated or cleared a past infection, then the answer is no, you should get vaccinated.
