Hi,
My dad is in his early 60s and he was tested positive for HepB about a year ago. He has been taking Viread for about 7 months now. Earlier, I was looking at his all his blood test results, and I was at lost. Which results should I monitor/pay attention from the blood test results? Also, below are the HBV DNA results for two blood tests that my dad had done at two different diagnostic labs -- one before he started taking Viread & one afterward...could someone help explain the results? I notice the first test has the actual virus count -- 4,510, 3.7, and 26,248 H (pls correct me if I'm wrong). Since specific virus count is not in the second test report, does this mean the virus count is too small to be detected? Thank you in advance.
Diagnostic Lab #1 - before Viread
HBV DNA - 4,510 H IU/mL <29
HBV DNA - 3.7 H Log IU/mL <1.5
HBV DNA - 26,248 H copies/mL <169
Diagnostic Lab #2 - after Viread
HBV DNA - <29 IU/mL
HBV DNA - <1.46 Log IU/mL
HBV DNA - <169 copies/mL
HBV DNA - <2.23 Log copies/mL
HBV DNA - 3.7 H Log IU/mL
HBV DNA - 26,248 H copies/mL
all represent the same amount but in different representation (IU/ml. log |IU/ml and copies/ml)
on the second one HVB DNA is undetectable.
on the other hand, you can have a look (and monitory) AgHBs quantitative , if the test is available.
