"You re-tested a week later, and this HBsAg was negative, along with HBaAb negative, and the core antibody negative."

Typo alert.  It should read:

You re-tested a week later, and this HBsAg was negative, along with HBsAb negative, and the core antibody negative.

I assume you mean your Hep B Surface antigen (HBsAg) was test positive recently.  Last year this HBsAg was negative.

You re-tested a week later, and this HBsAg was negative, along with HBaAb negative, and the core antibody negative.

Your one positive test is probably a false positive.

If you and your husband got infected recently with HepB (an acute infection), you would both likely be symptomatic and know it.

But to be sure, why don't you post your lab markers and results as it is written / printed.
