Hepatitis B Treatment.

My ages is 26 years old male.
4 months ago, i have donated blood and i got to know i am HBSAG positive. Then i had other tests done based on Doctor suggestion. The results were.
ALT 33
Liver ultra sound normal
Undetectable HBV DNA -HBV Viral Load < 3.8 IU/mL undetectable
Hbeag negative Antigen (HBeAg). 0.41s/co
I have some  gastric symptoms like very mild abdominal pain when i eat heavy , spicy or oily food. and bit of a digestion problem.

I had also donated blood 3 years ago & thay had nt told anything at that time. If i contact them now they are telling , yes it was Hbsag positive. Then i found i am carrier.

Apart from that i had all checkup it is normal.

Please answer me for below question
1. Is it good become Hbeag negative in the early age(adult age).
2. Any chances of full Hbe ab development which leads to complete negative of Hbsag.
3. Am i active or inactive carrier of HBV . What is the requirement to decide inactive carrier.
4. Are we sure with the regular monitor and treatment if required, we shall have a complete life.
5. I also consume beer occasionally like 1 beer per week. Is it really bad?
6.I am planning to marry soon, as doctor suggested she will be taking vaccination.  Does this ensure protection of her life from Hep B?
7. What is the age where complications of Hep B tarts without treatment?

I will be thankful if i get answers for above questions & i am hoping those answers will help me live confidently with Hep B.I also c some some improvement in inventing complete cure for Hep B, please let us know if you have any information from it.

1. Yes
2. Maybe, to become  HBsAg negative, you must first be HBeAg negative and HBeAb positive
3. Based on your very low hbvdna(less than 2,000 iu/ml) and normal ALT, you are most likely inactive.
4. Absolutely. Make sure your sexual partner is vaccinated against HBV.
5. Many people say they consume only moderate amount, but actually consume more. Best not to drink or smoke, not because of HBV but generally.
6. Yes.
7. Chronic Hepatitis B is a slow moving disease, so just have at least a yearly checkup. Start treatment if needed or you may be cured naturally without treatment.

I think your infection is recent, so you have a greater than 95% chance of complete recovery. So check your HBsAg again in 6 months time.
Just my opinion.

Really a wanted reply and lot of thanks to you on this Thanks giving occasion. I was Hbsag positive 3 years back and got to know now by calling a blood bank because of confirmation from recent blood donation. I am hoping clearing of Hbsag completely. can you just elaborate actual difference in becoming Hbeag negative in early age than older age.
It is strange that the blood bank did not inform you 3 years ago and let you donate again.
Chronic hepatitis B disease goes through phases (just Google natural history Hepatitis B). In the first phase, the virus is replicative, resulting in very high hbvdna, but normal ALT. Also the HBeAg is positive. With time, the body reacts and the virus is brought under control, resulting in very low hbvdna and again normal ALT. This "inactive" phase is marked by HBeAg negative and HBsAb positive. From here you can:
1. stay inactive;
2. lose your HBsAg (rare);
3. Virus mutated and become active again, if this happens you will need treatment to get it under control again.

Becoming HbeAg in early age means less time with high virus replication - bottom line, less chance of developing HCC(live cancer) later in life.
Thanks a lot Stephen,
Feeling very confident and happy. Overall my learning is to lead a healthy n life style with appropriate treatment if required. That what in my hands. Hope in another 5 to 10 years we may invent medicine for complete cure. Gob bless you. Last final question. Knowing hep B early is good because we can get treatment on time which will lead to successful life span. You can comment on this if you have points.
Thanks again byeee.
