Hepatitis B VirusViral L*

Hi I'm new here, I was diagnosed 3 yrs ago to REACTIVE of Hepatitis B Surface Antigen with test value of "3998" compared to a cut-off value of "1". Last June, my doctor recommend me for further test of the following;
                                             Result                 REFERENCE RANGES/COMMENTS
     1. HBeAg  (ECL IA)            0.114                          C.O.V.    1.000         NON-REACTIVE
     2. Anti HBe  (ECL IA)         0.004                          C.O.V.     1.000        REACTIVE
     3. Anti HBc  IgG (ECL IA)   0.007                          C.O.V.     1.000        REACTIVE

SPECIAL TESTS

Hepatitis B VirusViral L*
                                     Method  : RT-PCR (TACMAN)
                                     RESULT : 413 copies/ml
                                     i.e.         : 2.6 log copies/ml
                                     i.e.         : 71 Ul/ml
                                     i.e.         : 1.9 log Ul/ml

My SGPT-ALT is 72 U/L and SGOT-AST is 24 U/L. Is this ailment curable? And will this hinder my plan to apply for migration to Canada with my family?

Thanks a lot and hope for more reply to clear my mind.

Given that you are still reactive to Hep B markers 2.5 years after detecting HBsAg, I'd say you have chronic Hep B.

Your ALT seems somewhat high for such a low viral load. Retest your ALT once or twice and try to figure out why it is high.

A "cure" is not guaranteed... there are treatments available to maintain it. But from what I see of your reports, you seem to be in no danger to yourself. Take care not to infect others.

Thank you much for your information and insights to my ailment, I was really disturb upon knowing that I am positive to HVB 3 years ago. Anyway I am on medication for 3 months due to elevated cholesterol and triglycerides, that might be the cause of high SGPT (atorvastatin 10 mg/day and godex ds 3x/day). I will post my laboratory results by June or early July after my medication period.

Thank you
