For the record, I've never visited the CDC website for anything related to HepB. But I can tell you that I know pretty much about HepB.
Having a child who is not well is the most horrible feeling in the world. I try to share what I know about anything related to HepB. How other use my shared information is up to the individual.
Can a person get a serious reaction to any vaccine? Absolutely, I believe so. Everyone is unique. Did the poster's child have a very bad reaction to the HepB vaccine? Maybe...but you need to talk to doctors (immune specialist) to do testing. I don't suggest you seek guidance here.
Do I stand by my statement that it's a very safe vaccine? Absolutely. Because general stats and personal stats tells you that it's a safe vaccine. My kids took it. All the kids in my family and extended family took it. My kids' respective classmates took it. Everyone is fine.
To Lily607: I hope your child will be fine. Please tread carefully to those who promise you all answers to your questions. The regulars here will answer and share all they can. Hopefully you will find some of it helpful and that is always free.
Its me again! I was just looking around at sites and found this one. Didn't bother to click on the comment to see the rest of it! lol. Got the rest of the info now and YES I do believe that it is directly related to the vaccine. I will post again in a few minutes with more info for you! Kelly
Hi,
I'm so sorry to hear that your baby is sick. I am curious as to what his symptoms are? How old is he? I respectfully disagree with stevenNYer in his note "the vaccine is very safe". I would like to encourage stevenNYer not to get his info from the CDC website. But I would need more info on your son to give my opinion on why he is sick! Kelly
Give and take, the vaccine can consist of the following:
Purified HBsAg, Aluminum Hydroxide Gel, Thimerosal, Potassium phosphate, monobasic, Sodium phosphate, dibasic, Sodium chloride.
It should be noted that the vaccine is very safe.
