Hepatitis B

OK my girlfriend has just been diagnosed with Hepatitis B and the Doctor said its is active. We think she has had it from birth. she is 27. what does this mean please? we were planning of having childeren. Does the fact that it is active mean that problems will start happening with her? How often do i need to get a booster to keep vaccinated?

For you, test your HBsAg and anti-HBs and post the results here, too.

ok I will do. i cant believe it though. I hope she can get a test soon :( if the virus is active does this mean she could get cancer :(

Most people with HBV lead a normal life.  Without knowing her lab results it is hard to comment.
