Dear All,
My earlier post was in the HIV support forum. However I had my post 6 weeks ELISA antigen test which came back negative. HIV was n still is a scare for me.
My exposure was on 18th March 2007. Since then life has taken me for one hell of a rollercoster ride. On 27th I was diagnosed for some UTI..doc said either Gonorrhoea or Chlamydia based on the yellow discharge. I was on a Azithromycin and Doxycycline treatment and the discharge and burning sensation went away. But along came bad bowel movements..loose stool..greenish and proceeding to clay coloured with lot of mucus in it.
The local doc said, it must be some viral infection. Tested for HepA/B/C..all came back negative. Today the Mono and Syphillis also came negative. I no more have the clay coloured stools..but its still loose..I still have weakness...eyes/hands/feet have a burning sensation. Sometimes temperature reaches 37 degs...with chills.otherwise its between 36.2-36.8 degs. The latest ALT on 10th MAY 2007 was 116..earlier on 20th April 2007 it was 125. The AST is 33. I also experience slight pain in my lower abdomen. The Liver untrasound showed moderate to marked fatty liver. I dont drink much..only socially. I am arnd 15 kgs overweight thats wht the doc told me for fatty liver.
The specialist still shruggs off HIV/Hepatitis. Taking into consideration the ALT levels and the liver inflammation, I suspect a hepatitic disease.
The HepatitisB results:
HBsAg-
Patient's count: 73 cpm
Mean neg. control: 41 cpm
Cutoff value: 86 cpm
Remarks: Negative
Anti-HBs-
Patient's count: 136 cpm
Mean neg. control: 100 cpm
Cutoff value: 211 cpm
Remarks: Negative
The HepatitisA results:
Anti HAV IGG: 0.11
Negative Control: 1.99
Cutoff Value: 1.00
Remarks: Reactive
Anti HAV IGM:
Patient's count: 85 cpm
Mean neg. control: 50 cpm
Cutoff value: 105 cpm
Remarks: Negative
My concerns:
Due to the high level of HBsAg which is close to cutoff value, is it that I am developing Hepatitis B??
What exactly does this HBsAg count mean?...ideally should it be zero?
Also what would it mean by Anti HAV IGG being reactive?
Also would this be viral or drug induced(UTI treatment) hepatitis? If yes, then would i still feel weak and experience chills?
If anyone has experienced this or has a hint of whats going on, please suggest.
Btw sorry for the long post, had to put in all info. Also my work life is hell strenous, being in the telecom field im workbound almost 15-16 hrs.
Thanks a lot for all your assistance.
