How Hep B is Contract question

Hi, I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I can't seem to get a straight answer from the Internet research I've done. I would really appreciate if someone could answer definitively if a man can contract Hepatitis by -- pardon the term -- "fingering" a woman? Could that happen under any conditions, like if there were open cuts on one's fingers? Are there any documented cases of this happening? Also, how long would you have to wait after the encounter to get a test that definitively shows that you did not contract Hep from the encounter? Is it 90 days like HIV? I would really appreciate any guidance and again thank you for your help.

my thought is like i quoted earlier that if after 4 weeks (range 1-9 weeks) after exposure to the virus you dont have HbsAg serum in the blood you are not infected, now if there is something i missed, maybe a more experienced member from this forum can help you with.

Melcul,

What if HBsAg is not detected? Like a mutant strain etc. When for instance will the total anti-hbc test be conclusive?

-  from the cdc.gov site you have this information : "HBsAg will be detected in an infected person’s blood an average of 4 weeks (range: 1–9 weeks) after exposure to the virus. About 1 of 2 patients will no longer be infectious by 7 weeks after onset of symptoms, and all patients who do not remain chronically infected will be HBsAg-negative by 15 weeks after onset of symptoms." .

Could that happen under any conditions, like if there were open cuts on one's fingers?

-of course, if both persons have open cuts, there is a possibility . go make your blood test just to be sure if you suspect anything, why live with uncertainty?
