I am concerned

Hi I have a major concern, I have been dating my boyfriend for 7 years and just recently went to his doctors appointment with him. He hadn't had a check up in 4 yrs and his doctor brought up his Hepititis B, all this time he never mentioned he had Hepitits B and we have been having unprotected sex for years now I am so worried and scared, he says he never mentioned it cause it was dorment and not active the last time he cheked but that was 4 years ago. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow to ask for a test. My other concern is that I have 3 kids from my previous relationship and if i test positive I may have infected my children without even knowing. I am so worried and upset that my boyfriend would be so ignorant and put my life and my childrens life at risk and to have kept this from me for so long.

Please I don't know much about Hepititis B other than what i have googled today but i know i have never recived all three shots in the past that i can recall.

come on, lady

Don't be so scared.

It is highly probable that you have already had antibody against Hep virus. The truth is, adults are not so easily infected by HBV because their natural immune system can automatically kill the virus. Most HBV patients are infected at young.

Have your 3 children taken the HBV vaccacine already? It is required by the government (at any country). If they have, their chance of getting infected is zero.

Anyway, go have a test first.

By the way, your boyfriend should at least have asked you about your vaccine status before making love to you.

Get yourself and your close family tested - that is the only way to be sure.
