Introducing the Community Leader Program, and a Community Leader

Hi,

We're very pleased to announce the launch of our new Community Leader program. As MedHelp has grown in both number of members and the number of communities we have, the needs of these communities has also grown. Our Pregnancy communities would like to see different features than our Ovarian Cancer community. Out of this need, we came up with the Community Leader program.

A Community Leader will be a MedHelp member who will act like an ambassador to MedHelp, helping to communicate the feedback from the community as well as help us communicate back to the community from MedHelp. When we launch new features, like the Notes feature today, they will be able to help out with any questions. In addition to helping MedHelp, they will also be working with their community to help it grow, by welcoming new members, bringing up suggestions, etc. As always, anyone is still welcome to contact MedHelp directly. We love hearing from our members and it's a big part of what has made the site what it is today.

One thing to note, Community Leaders, will not be replacing the MedHelp moderators currently monitoring the site, however, the Leaders will be able to help if there is an issue and work with our moderators to address it. The Leaders are not working for MedHelp, they are still members, but ones that have taken on some added responsibility.

We're extremely excited about this program, and we're pleased to announce that we already have a Community Leader for the Hepatitis B community.  Please join us in welcoming StevenNYer as the first Community Leader for this community. As most of you know, this is a brand new community, but StevenNYer has stepped right into the role and been a terrific help in laying the groundwork to get the community going . We're excited he has agreed to be a Community Leader and we're looking forward to working with him and you, to continue improving the experience in this community.

For some reason my boss doesn't want to get on board with the 4 day work week.

I might need you to come down here and flex some Community Leader muscle.

Oh wait....I forgot to show him the little purple flower next to your name. I'll try that and see if he'll come around to our way of thinking.

Nash:  Good luck with your treatment.  I think one letter at a time is a good approach.  But I do hope you hit B as a side effect from hitting C :)  And I think both B and C are both complex in its own right.  I think C gets more press and funding.  So there is still lots of work to be done on B.

cajim:  As Nash pointed out, "MyMedHelp is at the top of the page to the left of the search bar with a heart shaped icon".  Click on that and it will take you to various things on your account, including "Message".  The message feature lets you private message forum members.  It's like MedHelp own e-mail system.

I am deeply bothered by your post.

Every precaution was taken to ensure that the memo on the new 4-days work week was delivered to your employer.  Any unwillingness to adhere to this new policy is unacceptable.  Totally unacceptable.

You are advised to go straight to the administrator at your work tomorrow and demand that they adhere this is policy.

Remind them that stevenNYer said so and just to be sure that there is no confusion on the order, print out that little purple flower next to my name to show the adminstrator as validation of the memo.

Hey Jim,

MyMedHelp is at the top of the page to the left of the search bar with a heart shaped icon.

I didn't know we could get to our profiles via that icon myself until just now.

I'll be on here a whole lot more if you can make that 4 day work week come true on April 1st......won't hold my breath on April fools day though...lol.

For the next 6 months I'll be concentrating on getting rid of HCV with a good chance to clear (GT 2a). Then start tackling my HBV. Is it just me or is HBV alot harder to understand than HCV? Still learning.

You fully deserve your leadership roles and we all who have benefited from your support, advice, and hugs when we were in fear, confusion, and tears should all support our leaders in ways we can.

I would like to thank MedHelp for developing the Hepatitis B forum.  It is an honor to be considered as a Commuity Leader.  Make no mistake, this forum is made successful by its its contributing members.  All those who give their time and share their experiences are all leaders in my book.  Zelly knows how I feel about her on this forum :)

And as the HepB forum Community Leader, I would like to say:

1)  Read my k-e-y-s-t-r-o-k-e-s...no new taxes!
2)  Starting April 1, 2008, the full work week will be adjusted to Monday - Thursday.
3)  The NY Mets will make up for last season!

:)  :)  :)
