Is it safe to breastfeed while on Viread

I am pregnant and on Viread treatment. Most websites say that it is not recommended to breastfeed as it is not well nown if the medication passes to the maternal milk...This idea stresses me. Do you have any thoughts or information regarding this aspect? Thanks in advance.

P.S: My ObGyn who knows nothing I assume about liver deseases said it is probably safe as even though it passes through, it will just protect the baby more? The thing is, this medication is not prescribed for babies...?
I really don't know what to think. I will for sure ask my specialist but wanted to have your ideas.

Before the baby becomes immune to HBV, the risk comes more from biting nipple and getting in contact with blood with HBV.  There is less a concern of Viread going to milk going to the baby.

One of the  gi doc said do not breast feed if Im on viread , I really really wish he's wrong. It's not safe for baby, even if I breast pump. I'll confirm with my own gi doc on my next visit, but most likely it's a no. You can buy breast milk from donors if  you like or just use farmula. Let me know if u find another way.
