Is lamivudine ok to take after discontinuation 10 years ago?

Hello, I was diagnosed 10 years ago with hepatitis b virus. Doctor then prescribed lamivudine which I used for 3 months and discontinued. In 2014 I did a pcr and result was 700iu/ml, 2015 pcr was 1380iu/ml and just did another 3 days ago with result 101000 iu/ml, which prompted me to see a doctor. He prescribed for me lamivudine 100mg for 6months. My question is, is this the appropriate drug considering I have used this drug 10 yrs ago and also considering other combination options available today. My wife had a combination of Zeffix and hepsera when viral load was 17000iu/ml six months ago, she took the drugs for 3months and today the viral load is just 2000iu/ml. Please I ask if it is suitable for me to use lamivudine in my present situation ?
