Is the untrasound scan necessary for minitoring my liver

I am suffering from chronic Hepatitis B and have regular blood test for the last 10 years. All the tests came out indicated the virus was inactive in my body. Is the regular bloody test enough to monitor my liver function or do I have to have ultrasound as well?

What do you mean by inactive? they stopped using this "word" in hepB chronic infections because even though viral load is low, it can still harm your liver. So yes, I would check the liver with an ultrasound at least, the other options are fibroscan or biopsy but it seems like fibroscan is the most reliable method.
what is your viral load count and ALT value?HbsAg pos? HbeAg pos or neg?

My test blood results as below:
Surface Antigen: pos
E antigen: neg
SAFP: 2 U/mL
SALT: 30 IU/L
SGGT: 25 IU/L
Total Bilirubin: 8 umol/L
Alkaline phosphatase: 31 IU/L
Albumin: 46 g/L
Total Protein: 79 g/L

Ultrasound catches things that blood test doesn't, but US doesn't catch all either, and all testing means have side-effects.  Depending on how one looks at HBV, some people reject tests that do not make a difference in curing.

Thanks for your answer. I'm just wondering if regular bloody test is enough to monitor the liver function or I should also have other tests done annually to help early detection of any liver changes.

US must be done every 6 months to detect liver cancer on time to be cured, if it happens it takes 6 months to grow so big that resection is not possible

everyone hbsag positive is at risk for liver cancer (both active or inactive) although the risk percentage is lower for inactive, medium for active, highest for cirrhosis.i don't remember percenatge but in any case between 1 and 5 for inactive/active.it is better to check because liver cancer therapy has very poor results only resection and transplant can have a result
diabetes is the illness with maximum percentage of liver cancer

Your results look normal (meaning no liver damage) as ALT is normal/bordeline but where is your HBV DNA (virus count)? the recommendations are to monitor liver yearly through blood tests (DNA, ALT, AST, , Bilirubin, ALpha phoetoprotein) and do an ultrasound, or better a fibroscan.

“US must be done every 6 months to detect liver cancer on time to be cured, if it happens it takes 6 months to grow so big that resection is not possible”

1.  US can only detect tumors of a certain size:  Normal US result only means cannot see tumors of a certain size and up.

2.  Resection does not cure at all, even its accompanying radiation and chemo therapy don't cure.  They just kill, indiscriminately, often hurt the patient to such a degree that he cannot eat and live normally, the result...

the one they use here in italy sees my regenerating nodules 1-3mm and a hemoangioma 3mm.of course you don't have to use machines from 2000.
tumor bcomes dangerous when bigger then mm

some survive on rezection if done very early, most survive on transplant also early and all other dye in a short time
