Is this a Positve indicator?

by hepbme, Nov 11, 2009 01:38PM
Hi All.

I was found to be hbsag and hbeag positive (anti-hbs and anti-hbe negative) back  in 2008. my alt and ast level is 2x the normal level. im currently undergo adefovir treatment. im lucky i got my meds for free. im enrolled in a clinical trial.

baseline hbv dna viral load: greater than 110,000,000 iu/ml

after 6 months of treatment: 46,000 iu/ml

do you think this is a positive treatment indicator? or should i not go gaga over this result? im trying to take the positive view on everything as of the moment as i think this is the only way to go - be positive.

PS: my sister has been found to be positive for the disease as well. Almost the same clinical parameters as mine.

good results, continue with  treatment and no not the time to go gaga.. wait til you hopefully seroconvert to hbeab postive and hbeag ngative then you can go gaga . this is the goal of your treatment right now.. control the virus, contain its replication, lower your alt and ofcourse ultimately seroconvert.

till then, keep what youre doing

thanks bbery.

anyway. i just want to add that im comboing adefovir with iv glutathione. ive read somewhere that its actually contraindicated for those with liver dysfunction. though the source is not very reliable (no clinical trial to prove this yet), do you think my liver is compromised given the level of my alt and ast (twice the normal value)

another question, i a m scheduled for hpv vaccination. is this contraindicated knowing that i am taking antivirals? I know ive read a question similar to this in this forum, i'd ljust like to clarify.

thank you very much!!!
