Hi Kenshiny45,
yes, if you have sores or open wounds in your mouth, and if you deep kiss with someone with hbv and his/her blood/saliva comes in contact with your sores, then you MIGHT get infected with hbv. If you were vaccinated against hbv then you have 95% chance to develop protection from hbv. Also 90 to 95% of healthy adults (whose immune system is not compromised by other illnesses) who get infected with hbv clear the virus within six months themselves. But you would not risk your health by taking chances, so get vaccinated and avoid risky sexual contacts with people you don't know. But hugging can definitely not transmit hbv, unless by some chance there is a direct contact with the blood/saliva of the infected person with your blood/saliva, which is very rare during hugging.
I know many people that got chronic hbv when they were an adult. That's very bad information.
no and it is also a harmless virus for adults since all clear, it is only chronic at birth
I don't think so by hugging but kissing definitely & specially if it is a deep kiss.
Thank you for your reply,, anyone else please help me in my situation
I don't think hugging can unless a situation exist for spreading. Kissing, i don't know except from the Internet. Any thing involving blood of hbv, I would be extra careful. Sex, I have no personal knowledge of except what I read off of the Internet, and one way to spread hbv is through sex.
If you have hbv be careful so u don't spread it. If you don't have it and worry about it, get vaccinated and after vaccination period is over, then look into hbv.
You never know who has what, your cool at your favorite restaurant might have it, the person who got a haircut before u at the barbershop might have it, your cousin, never know, so get vaccinated if you don't have it, and if u do have it be self aware and conscious of not spreading it
