LAM/TENOFOVIR

LAM/TENOFOVIR

What do i do next.
Was diagnosed with Hep B in 2001 when i was 27. Had a viral load text in september 2009 which came to 22,000. had another one in December 2009 which came to 46,000. Dr suggested treatment with lamivudine in January, 2010. Started lam in January 2010 and by June 2010, viral load was undetected. Due to the many concerns about lamivudine, i approached my Doctor with these concerns and she eventually approved tenovofir for me. Problem is, how do i start tenofovir? Is it a mistake changing? Should i just abruptly stop lam and switch to Tenvir? shouldn the switch be gradual? How. Please i need your advice. The only drugs available now in my country are lam and to a lesser extent Viread. Options are very minimal and cannot combo with other drugs.

your doctor is a killer lam is not a hbv drug from many years tenofovir is your only chance and start it as soon as possible in combo with lam for a couple of months and then discontinue lam.i am so angry such ignorant stupid doctors exist

you might add alinia too since it is active against mutated virus by lam, adv

start as soon as possible

you can also keep lam+tdf indefinitely

check if hbvdna is und by a sensitive hbv pcr to 5-10iu/ml so that probability you don t have lam muattions is higer

do not stop lam all at once because tenofovir requires some time to be fully active
