My ALT results due to Interferon

Just to ask if somebody here has the same lab test like this:

Finished 24 weeks on Interferon Aug 08

Aug 08 ALT 544, HBV DNA <6 IU/ml

Oct 08 ALT 288

Nov 08 ALT 130

How long do you think my ALT will be in the normal range?

The course of IFN is 6 to 12 months.  Already your ALT is lowing.

IFN can kick up your ALT...totally expected.

i have chronic hep b and am on tyzeka 600mg. My body is in agony most days. my arms and legs feel cold and tingly. my strength is gone and i feel like im dying. What can i do to make the pain stop? Please help. my dr has provided only the above and ignored my pain.

From what I read, your pain symptoms should go away shortly after the IFN treatment is done.

Hi,

Although my ALT wasn't as high as 500+ i also noticed a steady decrease whilst on pega interferon.... Not sure if it was a correlation of finishing pega and going onto combo tablets but it really smashed my ALT levels. I'm thinking interferon was given to surpress the vl (which i believe it did) then the combo tab's started the lowering on the ALT... Not completely sure tho...
