Natural Treatments for Hep B?

by cally44, Apr 19, 2007 12:00AM
Hi all,

I am not undergoing any treatment (I am precore) inactive though, at the moment.  I wanted to know if anyone has tried any special natural treatments such as homeopathy or chinese herbal medicine to help their body fight this disease.  After reading the book, "Natural Cures by Kevin Trudeau" it's hard not to believe there is a natural cure out there for all of our diseases but off course the FDA doesn't want us to know about them b/c it's all about money.  In the end, the patients lose unforunately.  I believe there is a time and place for drugs and surgery especially if it's something fatal.

I wanted to know if anyone here has tried and had success with any natural treatments.

Thanks in advance

btw cally, Inteferon is natural. They are just proteins the body makes on its own for the immune system.

be real careful. there are government people out there just waiting to pounce on you for revealing the TRUTH to us robotic idiots.they have moved their kids to safer places so we do not retaliate. keep your gun loaded as they normally come at night and speak chinese  to fool us. shoot. do not ask question ----shoot before "THEY" OVERRUN US ALL. ME AND MY family really appreciate you standing guard over us.

You are absolutely right. The FDA is evil. I live in Asia the past 10 yrs and we don't have to listen to those fools. That is why 99% of the people out here prefer Herbal remedies.

Now if I could just figure out why they have the highest HepB rate in the world and most deaths by liver cancer my theory would sooooooo fall into place.

Found this on the gastro site here, took off the names and I figure I'm not disparaging anyone, thought some could find this helpful...I swear by aloe vera juice, just cleared up a tummy ache for me yesterday...along with keeping me regular...

I've had IBS for years now. I had the lap nissan surgery several months ago, and although it 100% cured the GERD problems, it seemed to worsen my IBS.
I've been travelling for the past few months and the IBS got so bad that I went to see a Naturopathic doctor.
I have been taking three tablespoons of Aloe Vera juice twice a day for three weeks now, and could not have imagined better relief.
Has anyone else tried Aloe Vera Juice, did you experience any relief?
I have been to so many doctors about my IBS, and was told so many times that I had one of the worst cases they had seen. (you could always feel my colon is spasm)
I'd recommend Aloe Vera Juice to anyone, I was completly sceptical, as nothing else has ever worked before. There is tons of documentation on the internet with IBS sufferers never having problems again.

i there. I too tried Aloe Vera juice 4 years ago and was amazed with the results. I had chronic gastro problems for 4 weeks and they cured a few weeks after taking the juice.

thanks in advance -

.My husband has had Chrons for years and until recently he was told it was IBS. I highly reccomend Aloe Vera Juice. If you can get ahold of Georges Aloe water its the best. Tastes like sweet water. It works great for my husband. I also use it for heartburn and upset stomachs. Don't suffer with the others if you can get ahold of Georges. There is not bitter aftertaste and I promise you will never go back to other brands once using it. No I do not sell it I just believe its the best.

As far as the diareah I suggest using caltrate. Its a brand of calcium. Start with one a day and work your way up to no more than 12oomg per day. Without this my husband could not control the diareah. Also start taking acidopholis and bifodolfolis. You can usually find them in a pill together. Your body is washing away these wonderful bateria and you really need them. Try these and see how much it changes things. My husband was amazed. I hope theey help you also.

----- Thanks so much ----. I've been taking calcium but in a tablet form so it's likely not being digested. I will also look for your recommended brand of Aloe Vera juice and stick with my acidolphilis (Latero Flora - incredible stuff).

sorry for the confusion, but was just trying to lighten up some of the posts you had already received...sometimes when people say things like you did on a board where there are all kinds of people on very strong, sometimes unmerciful drugs for prolonged periods of time- some people have treated for many months, multiple times- it hits them wrong when a person comes on here and says that herbs, etc will CURE hepatitits....I can see their point if you look at it from their point of view...they've been through the wars with blasting cannons, and you came on here talking about winning with a sling-shot type of deal....so they might not always be as polite as they should be...

So no, I don't think herbs, supplementation can CURE Hepatitis in the vast majority of cases...but I do think it can help with inflammation (in some people), thereby helping with ancillary problems, symptoms, etc...They certainly have with me, I can tell a difference off them then on them...and that is what I was telling you to look into...(though a lot of people here won't even give me that, and they are entitled to their opinion, as I am mine)

If I remember, you were talking about Hep B, most people are dealing with Hep C here, and I sure dont know much about Hep B....hope I made myself more clear...be well...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  I've been chronic HepB sAg+ for alomst 14 years.  my latest test had my Doc calling me to say it came back NEG!!!.  All the other stuff they test for also looking good.
When I first tested for Hep I did the Milk Thistle and such.  my liver functions recovered rather quickly though not completely.  Hence, Chronic.
But, in regard to IBS and Chrones, my grandmother suffered for several years and was finally diagnosed with celiac disease (sprue). Apparently if she were to eat wheat glutens she would have bowel troubles for days.  I also used to have digestive problems (2 duodenal ulcers, reflux).  aloe and keifer all that was good but, a nutritionist told me about food combining. And eating papaya- it aids in digestion.  I more or less follow a way of eating found in the book, "Fit for Life."
Sorry if this was far off the forum,(it's my 1st posting ever) I was looking for info about my recent Hep test results.

So is using Milk Thistle good for you if you have hep b.  i use to take it when I worked out.  I wouldn't mind taking it again.  Is there any other natural things we should be taking.

First, My HepB DNA test came back Neg!!!.  My doc was so excited she called me from her private number at 8 am a couple weeks ago to tell me.  I finally built an immunity.  I know I one of the lucky ones.
The Milk Thistle seemed to help speed my liver functions and the tests showed to a normal range rather quickly.  My Doc at the time mentioned how quickly my numbers went to normal.  At the time I was first diagnosed, I kinda left most dairy and heavy meat proteins out of my diet.  That made digestion and nutients easier to absorb since my liver was running sluggish.  The only problem with that, I became borderline anemic.  So, once a week I ate a really choice piece of red meat.  within a couple weeks my energy was back and i just got on with life.  I continued being tested every 6 months, only drank (red wine less than once a week or an occasional beer) ate lots of fruit and vegies.
I wish and hope science finds a cure, but until then, I hope and pray for the best for everyone who suffers with this ailment.

the doubleblinds you can read about on NIH or pubmed showed no changes with milk thistle..it seems to be harmless however, so the doc don't care if you try it.

BUT and this is a big but...I've used herbs for 30 years, and think there are times for and not for these remedies. Herbs are just drugs, in unrefined states that have benefits and risk as do purified Rx's.

the big BUTTTTTTT here is this:
there are numerous types of liver viruses and they are labeled as Hepatitis when they are all very different.

it's like comparing how you got over a mild cold, to say how you got over spinal meningitis. One size does not fit all, it was really kind of stupid of medicine to label every liver virus with the same word because it implies similar degrees of severity to all but the docs who know what the genotypes really mean..

do we label every flower the same? No. we may label each genous...trouble is...a daisy at 2 feet is not a giant sunflower now is it. We tend to loose the ability to see what we have with the current typing system, just my opinion.

If we label every cold for instance, as pneumonia, doesn't that rather defeat the point of recognizing the mild from the life threatening forms rhinovirus can take????

However you cleared, just be glad you did, and congratulations. Now be careful with that liver from now on, and be sure and keep a check on things.
