Need Advise on HBsAg Positive but HBeAg Negative

Hello Sir,

I am 26ys old.

I had donated blood to Prathma for the first time in last July 2009. And in August I got blood test report from Prathma containing my Blood is reactive for HBsAg. So I consulted with doctor regarding that and as per my doctor's suggestion I have created reports of blood, urine and sonography. in those reports the result came that my liver is normal, urine report is normal and blood report contains HBsAg Positive. So after that as per advice of my doctor I have created another blood report for HBeAg test and in that report I got HBeAg Negative. So doctor then told me not to take any further treatment for that and advised me to create blood reports for HBeAg at every six months.

So I would like to know that as I have HBeAg Negative now so do I need to take treatment for that also?
Is that HBsAg phase in my blood report curable?
Do I need to take any specific type of diet for that?
Can I get infected by HBeAg Positive?
I am going to merry so can that virus affects my wife also?

Please help me in solving my confusion and answer my question.

Hoping for your favorable consideration.

is there any posible that hbeab can be cure?

no only hbsab positive means hbv has been cleared, hbeab is totally useless and you can clear infection by hbsab even without hbeab

see all other posts in the community about meaning of hbeag and hbeab

Please post your questions on a seperate thread next time on,

First your wife needs to get viral-load test. If the viral load is high it needs to be treated with help from her doctor.

Also please read health pages and get yourself educated. This virus can be controlled.

Hello sir,

At the time of perganency test I found the my wife blood report contains HBsAg Positive. So after that as per advice of my doctor we have created another blood report for HBeAg test and in that report she got HBeAg Negative. Please advise us what we should do.
1. Should we go for any other test.
2. Is it curable? What kind of medicine should we take. like doctor advice Liv.52 DS tables.
3. Do she need to take any specific type of diet for that?
4. Can she get infected later by HBeAg Positive?

Report are as follows:
HBsAG  Positive
HBeAg   Negative(0.6) when negative means-- S/Co<1.0
HBeAb   Positive(0.2) when positve means-- S/Co< 1.0

Thanks in advance

Did you get tested for HBsAb, HBeAb and viral load ? Can you post them if you have them ? Also your AST/ALT (though you mentioned your liver is normal).

HBeAg -ve usually means there is little active replication (assuming you do not have mutated virus which manages not to produce e-antigen. This is why having HBeAb test would help).

- Treatment depends on your viral load.
- HBsAg elimination is in theory possible but very rare.
- Diet ? Lots of vegetables, less alcohol in take etc..
- HBeAg (e-antigen ) is a by-product while virus is replicating. Chances are close to 0% for you turn HBeAg +ve
- You need to get your future wife vaccinated (and people who live with you as of now).
