New Transplant Forum

Hello Everyone, I don't have a question. I wanted to let everyone know about the new Transplant Forum. It just started today, and I didn't know how many of you knew about it. Although not everyone with Hepatitis B will need a transplant...some will. I feel for those that have transplanted we maybe able to help those who will need a transplant. Ease any fear that people may have about transplant. Tell people that life is good after transplant...anything that would benefit someone would be appreciated. If you have had a transplant I would appreciate it if you would post your story. Thank You.  Kande

On June 26,2010 my husband received a kidney and liver transplant at the same time by a group of wonderful doctors at California Pacific in San Francisco. His main doctor is Todd Fredrick.  He was in the hospital for four months and the people were wonderful. He was out of the hospital in a week.  He is doing wonderful except for his appetite, which is normal. He was in complete liver failure, but do NOT give up. He will tell you that over and over. If all other options fail contact the hospital, they will tell you what to do, and it is no picnic, but you MUST follow all the doctors orders. God did this for us, in doubt just go to him. The main thing is that you get on the transplant list. God watch over all of you.  Pat

there are trials made this year on co-q10 with patients on dialisis, only one could not get of of dialisis after trial.they used co-q10 gel 180mg x day for 12weeks (better small amounts thru the day to reach total daily 180mg)
co-q10 can be taken in higher amounts till 1800mg daily

check this post for other antioxidants which improve kidney function and do check with your tranplant doctor if these are ok in transplanted organs
