Newly diagnosed - next steps?

Newly diagnosed - next steps?

I just applied for a job and had my first HBV test ever. The result I got in an email from the company medical service was:

AgHBs POS
AcHBc POS
AcHBs 0

I have never had any symptoms of acute or chronic liver disease, but I realize after reading about it that this may mean nothing. I am 39, male. I think I can exclude acute infection as the only recent exposure I could have had would be from my partner who is immunized since 7 years (confirmed again today).

My questions are: What would be the next steps? What further analyses should I ask for/expect from my own family doctor or the liver specialist I am now looking for?

Finally, I see that there are many new developments in treatment over the last few years, and that there may be new things coming up in the future. Is it in your experience important to find a "cutting-edge" liver specialist or would a normal good doctor in gastro-enterology generally be up to date?

Thanks in advance for any answers

Have a complete hepa profile test to see if your hepa is chronic or acute only.

From what country are you? In the Philippines doctors are not up to date regarding this disease and you have to consult a liver specialist.

mike is correct

get a complete hep-profile and go to a doctor

an estimated of 10-15% of the population of the Philippines are chronically infected, so have your family/ siblings/ parents checked also

Thank you for your recommendations. I am not in the Philippines though, but in Belgium.
