No eating meat/fish in treating hepatitis b, a myth or reality?

Hi Doctor. I am 25, HBV +. Here is my hepatitis profile result:

*HBsAg-Reactive
*HBsAb-Non-Reactive
*HBeAg-Non-Reactive
*HBeAb-Reactive
*HBcAb-Non-Reactive
*Remark: Non-Replicative viral hepatitis.
My LFT on 14/07/2014 shows:
*AST 30 (0-50)
*ALT 44 (0-41)
*AIK Phos 58 (40-129)
*Total Bilirubin 6mmoI/L (0-17)

My doctor prescribed the following drugs for me
* Lamivudine 150mg 1 daily for 3months
* Livolin forte 2 daily for 3 months
* Astymin 1 daily for 3 months. He advised me to stay away from any fat-food. He warned me not to eat any sort of meat and fish(except smoked fish). The only thing that am worry is stopping meat/fish in my meal. Pls is d doctor right by telling me not to eat fish/meat?
Many thanks

Yup. He's right! Smoked fish is actually worse due to high salt.  Try salmon and no she'll fish or bottom feeders as they are bacteria cess pools. Some fish has high metal content that is toxic to the liver. Red meat is one of the hardest things for the body to digest. Once a week as a treat is fine, just be healthy and follow a liver friendly diet!  It's not as dire as it seems. Life is more important than what you eat!

The Liver Foundation has diet tips.

Watch your salt intact too,

By the way: red meat, when digested, puts off a lot of ammonia. With a compromised liver, the ammonia can go right to the brain and cause a brain fog.  Eventually, if you eat enough red meat with a damaged liver, and the next stage would be a hepatic coma.

So which is better? A steak, or possibly dying?  Your choice. Healthy diet, or horrific side effects that can compromise every aspect of your life?  I'm Italian and had to give up red sauce, pizza, meat, and pram cheese.  Now my skin looks lovely. No wrinkles, and I feel much better and do not have the bad side effects I could have if I had not changed my diet.

More people die because of unhealthy diets. In most cases, it was the diet that created the disease.  It's so silly. I choose life over diet any day! : )

Eat fresh vegetables and fruits. However, this does not mean that you should not eat meat. You can eat meat too (not as much as vegetables). You should also eat 1 egg in a day. Read the forum, you will find what to eat.

Please, please, please  DO NOT USE LAMIVUDINE!!!!!!! This virus can easily develop  resistance against the treatment. Once you develop a resistance, that means other potent anti-vitals' (ENTECAVIR and TENEFOVIR)  success rate dramatically decreases....!!!!

Start the treatment with only ENTECAVIR or TENEFOVIR!!!!!
