No sex, no drugs, how can I test positive for Hepatitis b?

Hi, I tested positive for hep b and I'm wrecked. I'm 28, never had any sexual experiences before whatsoever, never even smoked a cigarette let alone drugs, and I haven't been to a dentist for over 10 years. I had the test 3 years ago as precaution for a surgery and I was negative. How can I have this now? I can't think of anything and it's killing me.

i was in the exact same situation like you. Evan using a razor/toothbrush of somebody else can trigger this virus (which i believe it was my case). Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about it now, just follow-up and get treatment if needed.

Yep. The results from the third test just came back and I'm absolutely negative. The first lab was wrong. It's a relief.

I'm going to that lab tomorrow and we'll see if they will agree to compensate me financially for all the trouble they've caused me. I will have to deal with the emotional trauma for the rest of my life though.

I'm going to get vaccinated, too.

Actually the second test showed that I have no hep b. It's not even in the borderline range as 0.44 is lower than 0.9 so it's a negative and I misread it before. The result says I'm non-reactive.

I consulted with a nephrologist and he said one of the two tests are definitely wrong and one of these two labs has made a mistake.

Now I'm going to take the test for the third time, at a third lab which is the most reliable lab in the city and it's going to be a CPR test this time.

I got my fingers crossed but either way, a big lawsuit awaits one of those two labs.

Yes. It is conflicting. Would recommend to test again as planned, and to test further in six months or a years time to make sure that you're not carrying the virus. Good luck!

Hello again. So I just got my results from the second test. Its as follows :

Hbsag 0.44 borderline (apparently between 0.9 and 1.1 is borderline any mire and it's reactive)

Hbsab 7.0 (under 20 is not immune)

I don't know what it exactly means. Can anyone help?

Thanks for your answers. I did the test somewhere else again and I will have my results today but I'm not counting on it since the first lab had rechecked my result. Is there really any chance for false positive?

Another thing is, I never use razor for shaving! I have never used another's toothbrush, I don't know maybe someone used mine by mistake.

I even have been vaccinated for it before I was 19, it was in my high school days. I don't remember if I completed the three rounds though.

I guess there's no point thinking over it too much now, it's just hard to accept how unlucky I am.
