You might also post your results at the Hep C board where they are far more familiar with reading biopsy results.

Your result matched those posted in Chinese HBV site labeled "moderate".  Patients there at this level talked about taking great care about what you eat, especially what medications you take, and your living style.  The goal is to survive normally with the fibrosis.  I think learning as much as possible about being liver-friendly and practice what you have learned will go a longer way towards a normal life with fibrosis than any increase of dosage or other chemicals which all have the negative side at the same time.

Well, I dont see  *stage 3*  anywhere on the report you posted.
Thats why I asked what exactly was on the second page.
I do see 3/4 but its not specified if thats grade or stage... BIG difference.

And if 3/4 is actually stage 3/4 fibrosis, that does not means you are close to end stage liver disease. Many on the HCV forum are stage 4 cirrhotics. Many cirrhotics with a compensated functioning liver go for 10-20 years before they get into decompensated cirrhosis end stage liver disease, if they ever do. Many finally get to und SVR status which stops the progression of fibrosis/scarring. Don't get me wrong, am not saying for you to wait 10-20 years. It is diffidently time to be proactive and avoid cirrhosis if possible.

As for the meds your taking, I dont know about hbv meds. I am hoping my hbv test results, due back any day now, will let me avoid learning about the HBV meds. I already know way more than I want to about HCV meds.
Many on here do know all about the newest HBV meds and whats appropriate for you at this point, and will hopefully chime in.

Are you seeing a Hepatologist ?
If not, I would consider finding one at a teaching hospital. Hepatologist seem to be more up on the latest new drugs and protocols for Hepatitis. IMO, they would be the ones to advise you on your best options at this point.

Hey, thanks for ur reply.  That was the full report wich was done in hawaii. Soooo, I'm at stage 3 out of 4. Next stage is the end stage right? Where I can expect nothing but good things?  So, I'm on baraclude w/ 110 million copies, shouldn't I be on something more? I asked the doc, said something bout more side affects I don't know.     Well, thank you for your time, it will probably be easier being in denial thru most of it.     Have a good day

Looks like your bx was done with maybe
Knodell score, the metavir is more common in the USA
iirr,  Knodell goes to 10 for inflammation grade, and 6 for fibrosis stage, but some Knodell's have been changed recently to max 4 for stage like the metavir scale.

You mention another score on the 2nd page, can you find a metavir score ?
On the Metavir scoring system there are 4 *stages* 0 thru 4, well its really 5, but they call it 4

0=No Fibrosis
1=Mild Fibrosis
2=Moderate Fibrosis
3=Severe (Bridging) Fibrosis
4=Cirrhosis

grade = inflammation (reversible with resolution of cause)
stage = fibrosis (damage, scarring, partially reversible in low stages)

Dont let a high inflammation # alarm you, with
either Metivar or Knodell the more important # is the stage.
