Is i am immune to Hepatitis B for life..... ?
Is there any need for HBV DNA by PCR Quatitative ?
Your results suggest to me that your have recovered from a HBV infection and have developed antibodies to the Surface antigen, giving you protection to future infection from HBV.
There is a very very small chance that you may still have detectable level of hbv dna in your blood (known as occult hepatitis B). The clinical significance of occult hepatitis B is still large unknown.
The blanket refusal by the blood bank to accept your blood donation is quite puzzling because many people are in your situation - self recovery from a hepatitis b infection. If I remember correctly, over 2 billion people have been exposed to HBV. This a a lot of people to exclude.
