hi,

I have taken the following tests and their resuls
1. Virology

HBsag - positive - 27.9 <0.13 absence of HBS antigen

HBeag - negetive

2. Biochemistry

Hepatitis B virus DNAQuantitative PCR        418 IU/MLcooment : 2199 copies/ML can be expressed as log 2.62

3. Ultra sound scan of Liver and pelvis - they all show normal not inflamable.

from the above tests how can i know whether i am ACUTE or CHRONIC?

actually when was i expoesd to the HBV? how can i know that?

can i be completely cured and show negative of hbsag forever??

1.  Is this your only test?

2.  More likely you are chronic, and stable.

yest this my only tests that the doctor has asked me to do
are there any other tests that i have to do? pls advise.

pls need your feedback on the below queries.

1. my hbeag test is negetive what does this mean?
2. on what basis of the test we can determine acute or chronic?
3. am i still contagious? coz hbeag is negative.
4. if i am chronic can i be completely cured of the virus? what are the chances?
5. can the above test tell when was i actually expoesd to the viru?
6. i had taken the HBV vaccination 5 yrs before, and how is that i show positive now?
7. can an indiviual be infectious of HBV if vaccinated?

--means you are more stable.

--two tests of positive HBsAg with 6 months apart = chronic

--low

--Yes.  Less than 10%.

--No.

6. i had taken the HBV vaccination 5 yrs before, and how is that i show positive now?

--Vaccination was not effective for you.

7. can an indiviual be infectious of HBV if vaccinated?

--No if his/her HBsAB is positive.

Still can't be sure if you are chronic, but normally if you were still in the acute stage your HBeAg would still be positive....so more likely you are chronic and stable.

Like cajim said, "two tests of positive HBsAg with 6 months apart = chronic" or an Igm anti-HBc test will let you know if you are still acute.

25% have viral change such HBeAg(-) no longer mean no viral activity. - can you please explain this in details pls
