Absolutely, take with food. I realize that on their site it says take "with or without food" but my doctor told me it was absolutely essential to take with food. What I was told is that the medicines works with or without food for HIV patients but for CHB, it has a better interaction with food. He also suggested eating food 10-20 minutes for taking the meds, so the food gets a chance to settle and can interact with the meds. He gave me a better explaination than this but it's what I remember.
the drug makers, in countries where laws allow this, do not report the kinetics of absorption food/no food and best choices because this is annoying and they might lose the client who may choose different drugs

Hello,
I don't know where you get your info. Section 2.1 of manufacturer's printed information leaflet from inside pack says "The dose is one 300 mg Viread tablet once daily taken orally, without regard to food". I started taking Viread last night.
please avoid answers if you are not 100% sure, you can damage patients health with wrong answers like this
why don t you read the dosage instructions before taking it?it must be taken only with food, absorption is impaired without food and reach lower values
It does not matter. You can take it, with or without food. Make sure you take it at the same time every day.
