Re: Hep-b treatment with adefovir & lamivudine combination

Dear Doctor,

I am a patient of hep-b for 5 years. I treated first with lamivudine and then by adefovir. Now my doctor advised me to treat hep-b with adefovir and lamivudine combination.I have already started.Three months back I didn't use any alopathic medicine and I used only herbal medicine. After three months of using herbal my blood test shows SGPT124. I continued adefovir for 2 and half years before.
Then I started adefovir and lamivudine combination for four days ago.

Anyway, Will this combined drug help me to become  HBeAG negative ? After continuing medicine for a long time if i discontinue or weak lever function   then can I become HBeAg positive ? pls. let me know.

What is the performance of Peginterferon / entecavir for me ? pls. advise me.

My e-mail address as follows:

***@****.

With best regards

lamivudine, adefovir, and entecavir are similar medication that inhibit polymerase.
Combination will not cause better results than monotherapy.
Peginterferon seemed to be better for HBeAg negative patient.
If you are HBeAg positive, I suggest upi to try any one of  lamivudine, adefovir, and entecavir. ( Entecavir is the best choice because you 'd more likely to become low DNA level and HBeAg negative status before resistence occured)
Anyway, you can try peginterferon monotherapy if you want to have the chance for cure( loss HBsAg)
Because peginterferon is the known best medication to lower cccDNA in your hepatocytes. It give you the only chance to be cured. Although adefovir has proved to lower cccDNA, it lowered less than 1 log ( Only 70-80%).  It is far less than cure.
I strated peginterferon now because I believe that I am one of the few lucy to be cured because I have gotten the large very new evidences to determine my duration of therapy.
