Hi all,
I'm a first timer to this forum. I'm an asian male, 38 years old, chronic HBV carrier. I just got my most recent lab results back:
1. Liver function:
ALP 69 (42-120)
AST 25 (10-42)
ALT 27 (10-60)
2. HBV DNA:
6566 (<160)
3. AFP 7.7 (<9.0)
4. Did Ultrasound in sept 08 and Feb 09, both normal
However, my PCP also ordered Amylase and Vitamin D tests for me, and they are NOT normal:
Amylase: [H] 176 (25-125)
Vitamin D 25 OH: [L] 17 (30-100)
I'm just curious about how these two tests enter the picture? Are they caused by a possible liver damage?
BTW, my PCP ordered these labs for me to investigate my weight loss (lost more than 20lbs during last 12 months, despite good appetite, and no other symptoms).
Thanks!
