Replicor's interim data on human trails

Replicor will present results from its clinical proof of concept trial at the upcoming 20th annual meeting of the APASL in Beijing, China. This is the largest annual meeting dedicated to treatment of liver disease in Asia which typically attracts over 5,000 physicians and researchers. See: http://www.apasl2010beijing.org/en/index.aspx

Interim data on the efficacy of the amphipathic DNA polymer REP 9AC in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B in 6 patients will be presented. Interim results will show that REP 9AC treatment rapidly leads to the detection of anti-HBsAg antibodies and the reduction and or clearance of serum HBsAg within the first 12 weeks of treatment in human patients. These findings are associated with substantial and sustained reductions in serum HBV titers which may be due to an improved immune response to the infection. This is exemplified by the first patient who had 2,000,000 copies of the virus / ml in his blood, was then treated for a total of 23 weeks and who has so far maintained a sustained virologic response (<70 copies of the virus / ml in his blood) for a period of 6 months off treatment.

REP 9AC represents a new class of antiviral agent that blocks the release of HBsAg which has been associated with HBV-specific immune defects and may contribute to the long term persistence of the infection. It appears that REP 9AC effectively clears HBsAg in the serum and leads to the rapid acquisition of effective immunity against the infection.  REP 9AC may therefore provide an important new tool in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B.

wow wonderful there is nothing more to ask

now i guess it is better not to get resistant strains by combo and wait for rep 9ac to be available

So whenever this new drug REPLICOR 9AC will be available to us, will it be able to fully get rid of the positive HBsAg that a person with chronic Hep B has and that person to fully recover from the infection??

in other words just like a person that is acutely infected with Hep b and is able to clear the virus in 6 months time.

thanks in advance

from what is on their webiste looks like results are compound clears hbsag complitely on humans and this leads to unblock immune system (which is blocked by the huge number of antigens produced) and hbs ab antibody, infection is cleared by 24 weeks even with high hbvdna baseline at 2000000cpies/ml

i am waiting to see the study online but in general i expect bad news from the market because this drug can lead all other big producers to lose all other antivirals which do not cure but make you slave to life to their therapy which turns to be the biggest profit

i have found the article, they have found the cure for hbv since 100% human subject treated cleared hbv and hbsab are present as early as 1 week
i find very strange the cold response from webistes and journals on hbv subject, nobody of them report the news or knows about replicor.on the other hand it is very easy to find articles about antivirals that don't clear anything....

here is the link, at this point i do hope they will produce the drug sooner or later

you need acrobat reader installed in your computer, pdf are acrobat reader files, it is a free software on adobe.com, then you can open files from internet browser or download and open from acrobat.

there are many many articles (more than 100 i guess) so you better search for FP-014 in the search box of pdf program

rep9 ac is active against all resistant strains and antigens of hbv, in the article it says slow continous infusion, does it mean the drug is continuosly injected in the blood stream?if so the drug must be free of any toxicity, they don't mention any side effect

on previous trials they showed it doesn't have sides or toxicity, on the contrary they showed that all antivirals and interferon have sides.
