Results from my HCC screening, please help me understand?

PROCEDURE: US Abdomen Complete

CLINICAL INDICATION:  screening for HCC (chronic HBV)

FINDINGS:
The aorta is unremarkable.

No obvious pancreatic abnormalities are identified.  There is a small echo genie lesion seen within the right lobe of the liver at approximately the level of the right kidney.  This measures 4.6 X 6.5 X 5.3 mm in size.  There is no shadowing associated with the lesion.  No intrahepatic biliary dilation is identified.  The gallbladder and common duct are unremarkable.  The right kidney measures 10.4 cm in size and the left kidney 10.8 cm in size.  No mass or hydronephrosis is identified.  Spleen is normal in size and appearance measuring approximately 9 cm.

IMPRESSION:

Small echo genie focus seen within the right lobe of the liver at the level of the right kidney measuring 4.6 X 6.5 X 5.3 mm in size.  The appearance is most compatible with hemangioma.  In light of the history however I would consider recommending further evaluation of this lesion with MRI. That examination could be booked using this report if necessary. Examination time should be in the range of four to six weeks time from the date of this report.

Fibro scan just got back indicates 5.3 kph f0-f1

Can someone please help me with meaning of all of this?  Does anyone know what this lesion is.

Hi,
As I read hemangioma is more common to women, also your HCC risk with that fibroscan score is almost zero. I am 99.99 percent sure it is hemangioma, also your report says so, but would be better to double check just to be sure.

Thank you antistr, feels a lot less scary when you say it like that.

Take MRI with appropriate contrast....in order to confirm that it is hemangioma and not hcc.
I went trough similar situation (they fount it not on ultrasound but on MRI without contrast) and  it turned out that it indeed is hemangioma which some 3-5% of people have in their livers (if u can remember correctly)
Do not stress to much...
