by Bei, Jun 16, 2007 12:00AM
I am a 71 Years old man. My blood test report as follows:

   HEPATITIS B SURFACE
     ANTIBODY QL                         NON-REACTIVE
HEPATITIS B CORE AB TOTAL             REACTIVE
   HEPATITIS BE ANTIGEN                  NON-REACTIVE
   HEPATITIS BE ANTIBODY                 REACTIVE

Should I test HEPATITIS B ANTIBODY and HEPATITIS BS ANTIGEN?

From the information you provided, you are probably an inactive HepB carrier.  The core antibody indicated either past and current infection.  Your -eAntigen and +eAntibody usually indicates an inactive carrier, especailly given your age.  I would ask your MD to test for the surface antigen and antibody to get a complete picture.  Also for the liver function panel and HepB DNA test to check for any active liver damage.  Hope this helps.
