Should I take Zeffix (lamivudine) to reduce mother-to-child infection risk?

Any body please give me advice whether or not I should take Zeffix, as prescribed to me by my doctor to reduce the risk of infection to my baby? My HbeAg is (+) and NDA viral load is 1.440.000 iu/ml, over 8.000.000 copies/ml. ATL is 43.

Pls, plss!

no these drugs make untreatable virus mutants, this was a failure on hiv and hbv and should never be used now

sorry a big mistake i did here, this drug lamivudine make untreatable virus mutants, this was a failure on hiv and hbv and should never be used now.
also telbivudine is looking for patients because another failure due to high rates of mutants and failure, telbivudine is also among the most unsafe for all patients due to sides

tenofovir is the only one totally safe for pregnancy, no resistance and most potent.once started it is good to continue tenofovir after birth.
be aware that with hbeag positive and high hbvdna your baby can get infected because vaccine fails with hbeag positive.hbeag is thought to get through placenta and infect baby before birth

As stef2011 said, for your own treatment, tenofovir is recommended. But I understand we are dealing with your special case here. So here is my opinion only and I am not a doctor.
1.Yes, for women with high viral load, treatment by oral antiviral is recommended by some doctors to further reduce the risks of baby getting infected.
2. Tenofovir disoproxil and telbivudine are categorized as class B regarding safety in pregnancy and the other HBV drugs as class C. Lamivudine and tenofovir disoproxil have not been shown to be associated with fetal abnormalities even when used during the first trimester of pregnancy.[73] (extracted from an article in Nature by Prof. Anna Lok]
3. So, I think Lamivudine is safe. You must consult your doctors, including your Obstetrician, they must work as a team to look after you and your baby.
