Spread of Hepatitis B in Dialysis Patients

by Rainie, May 24, 2000 12:00AM
Someone in my dialysis unit has acquired Hepatitis B.  She has had no blood transfusions in the past 2 1/2 years and no sexual relations since 1992.  She has not tested positive in all of that time.  She has now tested positive, and is told she is getting over it,but is now being moved to a separate area for her dialysis treatments, specified for Hepatitis patients.  My question is what possibilities are there that she contacted this on her dialysis machine and what concerns should dialysis patients have in relation to this.  I ask because I also am a dialysis patient.  Thankin You in advance.
