Hello everybody,I am a 26 years old man who recently tested Hepatitis B positive about 2 months ago.My Hepatitis B profile came out as.....HbsAg-positive HbsAb-Negative HbeAg-Negative HbeAb-Positive HbcAb-Positive. Most of my Liver function test results came normal except my ALT(182).My doctor gave me little information about my results because all he said was that I was ok and needed no treatment and only need to have an annual checkup on my liver. But am worried about my Alt value which is rather high and am also confuse as to what stage of Hepatitis B I am as I don't know whether I am acute or chronic infected. Will be very happy to hear any suggestion and possible explanation for my results.I have also been experiencing mild upper right abdominal pain lately.Thank you all.
Hello and hope you are doing well.
You are suffering from hepatitis B but you do not know if you have active or inactive disease since you have never been tested for DNA. This test will tell you if you have virus in your bloodstream. If there is no virus you don’t need treatment. Presence of anti-HBe antibody demonstrates reduction of necroinflammatory activity in the liver. A positive HBcAb test can mean you have an acute or a past hepatitis B infection. A high alanine aminotransferase can indicate inflammation in the liver. You may need hepatitis B DNA testing .Routine follow ups are very essential along with regular blood monitoring. Consult your doctor and get your doubts clarified. Keep me posted.
Best luck and regards!
