Tested Hepatitis b positive 2 months ago

Hello everybody,I am a 26 years old man who recently tested Hepatitis B positive about 2 months ago.My Hepatitis B profile came out as.....HbsAg-positive    HbsAb-Negative HbeAg-Negative HbeAb-Positive HbcAb-Positive. Most of my Liver function test results came normal except my ALT(182).My doctor gave me little information about my results because all he said was that I was ok and needed no treatment and only need to have an annual checkup on my liver. But am worried about my Alt value which is rather high and am also confuse as to what stage of Hepatitis B I am as I don't know whether I am acute or chronic infected. Will be very happy to hear any suggestion and possible explanation for my results.I have also been experiencing mild upper right abdominal pain lately.Thank you all.

Hello to everybody,This is a follow up to question I posted earlier last month.I got my Ultrasound results 2 weeks ago and here is what it reads.......
- Liver is normal in size and echopattern .No diffuse or focal lesions seen.
-Spleen,kidneys,gallbladder have normal ultrasound features.
-No peritoneal mass or fluid seen
Impression: Acute Viral Hepatitis
Cannot be R/o

I also had my Liver function test done and my ALT value dropped from an initial value of 185 U/L 2 Months ago to 29 U/L.  My AST however rise from 5 U/L to 34U/L which is still in normal limits. All other tests came out within Normal limits.
My question now is that am I really still in a stage of Acute Viral hepatitis B as indicated by My ultrasound diagnosis and could the drop in Alt value be an indication of possible recovery from Hepatitis B. I am worried cos I don't get any symptoms except an occasional feeling of mild pain and pressure in my Right upper Quadrant of the Abdomen. My Doctor however say I don't need treatment and we need to run the Hepatitis B profile in six month time to see if something have changed. I will really appreciate you comments so much.Thank you.

Dont ask your doctor just go get the tests that marry suggested. Your doctor is ignorant in HBV if he did not tell you to do the tests. Find another doctor.
Also with your ALT levels you are a candidate for the treatment even without the tests. Find EALS clinical guidelines and read yourself.

1st of all don't Take tension be positive and no need to worry a there are effective treatment available now and hopefully in near future there will be many more....

As Your AlT is high than normal value and your Hbeag Negative ..you need more test which include

HBV DNA
Hbsag Quantative
ultrasound/fibroscan

these test will clear your picture about hep B...

and about pain i think its due to tension..i sure you didn't fill it before when you are unknown by your Hep B is it... ?
