Better to check their community page I agree.

But the gastro i refer to has been working on the front line in many hepatitis b and c trials and when I came out with the statement to them "100%" then they corrected me and said what they said.

Its probably the best source of info on hcv I had as obviously my personal interest is hbv

I  tested for 5 months  ve for HBV, HIV - and HCV -... Am worried cos hbv they say has no mouth relating symptom. Tests for hbv =Hbsag  , Hbsab -, Hbeag -, Hbeab -, Hbcab -

I think it may be good idea as Stef said, start hcv treatmen than start interferon before hbv will take place of hcv, so you'll catch hbv when it's still in low amount, so better chance to clear/suppress it.
I don't know if hcv treatment also triggers some immune response which may affect hbv at least a bit ?
I hope studyforhope will give some insight how to do this correctly.

check on hcv community they know for sure and better than many gastro, the combo with 100% on hardest genotype in weeks had a bad start, after seeing such results drug companies didn t want it on the market combined

My gastro told me geno type 3 hcv is about 60% on some of the new oral combo's but its still a good chance

hcv suppresses hbv and often hbsag is low because cells can t be infected by 2 viruses so if hcv got most of the liver hbv has little space

it is best to use hcv antivirals they get rid of hcv by weeks in 100% cases with combo then start peg for hbv before it gets hold of the liver

i'm curious if having both hbv and hcv, by treating hcv, doesnt hbv also gets cleared, like we had some topics before speaking about coinfection with hepatitis A can also clear HBV ?

yes hcv is recoverable by a short term course of peg ifn and ribaverin tabs daily. Newer antivirals for hcv have come but it is prefferable to treat co-infectiion of hbv and hcv by ifn as it acts on both.
there is no need to worry much coz days are not far when hbv will be curable and apart it is not deadly on current regimes.

Yes, I have the virus for 13 yrs now, and most of the doctors I meet don't know much about the disease.

take hcv antivirals and get rid of hcv, response is almost 100%

check your hbsag to know if it is low and hbv can be cleared by peg

HBcAb- Immunoglobulin M–specific hepatitis B core antibody  appears 6 to 14 wk after exposure to HBsAg and continues to be detectable either until the infection is resolved or over the life span in patients who are in a chronic carrier state.

if you are referring to this one than it's not Hepatitis C, but it's a marker for Hepatitis B !
