Treatment for HBsAg ?

Treatment for HBsAg ?

I have a question regarding the BHs Antigen.
I am 21 years old and I have been diagnosed with HBs present when I was about 3 or 4 . I lead a healthy way of life, don’t smoke or drink.
I had my lab tests done last year and my physician did not prescribe any medication.

My question is :
Is there anybody here whom after undergoing medication or any kind  of treatment went from HBsAg POSITIVE to HBsAg NEGATIVE, thus getting rid of it ? , and if yes what was your treatment.

I eagerly await an answer from a doctor or a “ patient ” who knows what he is talking about.
Thanks.

Let's hope those cleared HBs start sharing their experiences....never have one before.

However, these are from research.....

1) ~1% clear naturally...no treatment.
2) antiviral treatment.....very low % (1-2% est)
3) interferon.....3% lost HBs after 1 yrs & *** 11% after 4 yrs (recent data presented in Milan - pts w/ -ve antigen)

Hope this helps......

As Ann8 stated above, complete cure is rare.

Are you thinking now: then why do I need doctor monitoring and treatment at all?

You need them because HBV is most of the time asymptomatic but the liver is being hurt  because of the presence of HBV and when symptoms do appear treatment may be too late.

When you monitor and treat your HBV, you do what science today knows how to slow down the disease progression.

If you do start a treatment, please keep careful records and post your lab results here.

Together we HBV patients may know what treatments work and what don't.

Best wishes.
